Discovering the beaches of Mykonos – Part 1

The beaches of Mykonos are all beautiful and to be discovered. The dry brown hills surrounding the bays, the white houses of the Cyclades archipelago, the crystal clear sea and intense colour, the sun, all this makes for a breathtaking coast. Some are well developed and equipped and others are wild and off the beaten track, every beach in Mykonos is special, each with a different flavor!


Panormos Beach

The Panormos Beach is located on the north coast, frequently hit by the Meltèmi wind. The beach is wide, long and several hundred meters of golden sand. The sea is often choppy and rough, is clean and a turquoise-blue colour. Years ago the beach  was not equipped, but now in addition to the traditional tavern Kalosta, the trendy beach club Principautè de Mykonos opened in 2016.


Super Paradise Beach

The Super Paradise Beach is a beautiful half moon of golden sand overlooking the clean  and transparent sea  with the many shades of emerald green and cobalt blue. The beach is full of bars, restaurants, shops and is suitable for those who love being around people. The very famous Coco Club, and Jackie O’ Beach Club with stunning views overlooking the beach and its sea from above. The beach can be reached from the sea, directly from Mykonos town, from Platis Gialos, or by road leading to the village of Ano Mera. The beach also offers the chance to enjoy water sports.


Paradise Beach

This Large long sandy beach is best the younger and teenage crowd. As  it is  very touristy, it is not the best for those seeking a relaxed, laid-back afternoon. The beach is full of bars, restaurants, shops and is suitable for those who love being around people and confusion, with loud music coming from the famous beach club Tropicana. On the hill behind the beach there is also the famous nightclub Cavo Paradiso. You can reach it by sea, directly from Mykonos Town or Platis Gialos, water sports can be enjoyed here.


Kalo Livadi Beach

The Beach Kalo Livadi is lined with a beautiful rural valley and is located about 11 km from Mykonos Town, on the south side next to the Elia beach. The coastline of fine golden sand and the sea on which overlooks the beach is clear and emerald in colour. The beach is long, wide, equipped and offers bars and restaurants like the original Solymar.


Agrari Beach

The Agrari Beach is located on the southern coast, about 10 kilometers from Mykonos town. It very close to the famous Elia beach, which you can be reached on foot, but less well known and more peaceful. The beach is characterized by a white sandy coastline, lapped by a turquoise and crystal clear sea. The beach, often frequented by nudists, and offers a nice restaurant, a bar and a water sports center. To reach it, as for many other beaches on the island, you have to follow a winding road.


 Ornos Beach

The Ornos beach is situated in front of a small fishing village, about 2.5 km south of Mykonos town. The beach is characterized by fine sand and is bathed by a beautiful transparent and crystal clear sea. Recently there has been much development with the opening of shops, bars and restaurants such as the famous Buddha Bar and Kuzina. The beach also offers water sports facilities, water skiing and windsurfing.


Agios Stefanos Beach

The Beach Agios Stefanos is the closest to Mykonos town, 10 minutes drive away, and is located 1 kilometer north of Tourlos and the new port. It a beautiful beach protected from the winds, very popular and very busy, characterized by a white sandy beach bathed by a turquoise, clear and blue sea. The beach offers many water sports facilities, as well as the possibility of a tasty meal at the well known tavern H Epistrofi.
