Lying on the north side of the island, next to Fokos beach, Mersini is another charming, undeveloped and secluded beach, ideal if you want to stay away from the crowds. Access by car or motrobike is tricky, the road is quite bumpy, but Mersini beach can also be reached by private or rented boat. (photo credits: D.Rasador)
Quiet and secluded, the beach Fokos is located on the north coast of Mykonos. Almost completely unknown to tourists due to the bumpy road that need to travel to reach it, the beach is surrounded by wild and beautiful scenery. Fokos is a fine sandy beach, not equipped, with deep water and surrounded by steep rocks, ideal for bathing when the winds blow from the south and for the surfers when the Meltemi blows the island and creates beautiful waves in the bay. Long, very trend beach, with fine soft sand, no umbrellas or sun-beds. Gorgeous setting and cool hangout attracts many locals and ‘those in the know’; only reached by own transport or taxi. Volleyball court, and racket ball possible. Great swimming, but not recommended on very windy days.
Large, coarser sand beach, with sun-beds & umbrellas. Lovely, wilder nature setting with crystal clear water, great for families or those looking to relax. Excellent beach service, with cold drinks or cocktails served at your deck chair.
Splendid setting with fine sand and clear sea water. More secluded with limited tourists and no sunbeds or umbrellas. Located at the end of Panormos Bay, it’s more beach cove style, a quieter option to neighbouring Panormos Beach. A paradise for all those searching peace and quiet..but again avoid on a windy Meltemi day. (photo credits: I.Tsirigotis)
Little known, this small white sandy beach offers visitors peace and quiet. However a beach volley court and diving center are available for those feeling more active; also has a small kiosk for soft drinks etc. (photo credits: mygreecetravelblog)
